The Edmond J. Safra Family Lodge

Project 216 provides 24/7, 365-day front desk staffing at the Edmond J. Safra Lodge, a home-like facility for families to stay while their loved ones receive care at NIH in Bethesda, Maryland.

The Lodge provides a retreat and sanctuary for families and caretakers of NIH Clinical Center adult patients participating in investigational and clinical trials designed to further knowledge of new treatments for disease.

The Lodge is a home-away-from-home, providing a comfortable environment intended to alleviate the stress and anxiety that inevitably accompanies the serious illness of a loved one.

Project 216 provides overall management of staff assigned to the Lodge.  Our employees participate in execution of safety plans, emergency/contingency plans, quality assurance plans, and project implementation plans.
