Our Outreach

THE MAYA FOUNDATION

CHANGING LIVES BY EMPOWERING WOMEN AND THEIR FAMILIES AROUND THE WORLD.

The Maya Foundation a 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to empowering women and young girls in communities around the world in sustainable ways so they can empower others.

The Maya Foundation sponsors 11 young girls to attend Grace Primary School in Mbale.

WE GIVE, WE TEACH, AND WE EMPOWER.

We teach young women how to grow food crops and build a sustainable life for themselves and their families. We teach financial literacy to effectively manage agricultural earnings.

PARTNERSHIPS

Byeffe Foods signed an MOU agreement with the women’s group to supply agricultural training, seed, and fertilizer, and they agreed to buy the products the women produce. This plan has already been tested and vetted by USAID through the Feed the Future program.  The crop the women will be growing is a particular kind of pumpkin needed to produce pumpkin cereal and other pumpkin related products. With the rise of HIV, Celiac disease, and other diseases, the pumpkin has become a mainstay in public school and hospital diets, and is available in community grocery stores in Uganda.

HELP US EMPOWER OTHERS

The Maya Foundation has worked supporting women and their families in Kenya, Uganda, and Brazil.  In 2014 we began a community-based project in the Washington, DC area, energizing volunteers to sew clothing for young children in Kenya, Uganda, and Brazil, and to distribute freshly baked bread to needy families.

With your generous donation, The Maya Foundation will be able to empower young girls and their families in impoverished communities around the world and help these girls work toward a brighter future. Your donation is tax deductible.
